Tshilidzi Ratshitanga

Chairperson

Tshilidzi holds a BA Honours in Politics and Development Studies degree from Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg). He has a Magister Philosopiae (MPHIL – Political Economy) from the University of Port Elizabeth. He holds a Certificate in Public Information and Communication Policy and Management from Wits University. He also obtained a Certificate in Managing Change in the Public Service from Singapore Civil Service College.


Mr Ratshitanga started work at Gauteng Education Department where he was the spokesperson for MEC, Mary Metcalfe. He went on to become a Deputy Director in Premier Mbazima Shilowa’s Strategy Unit, a division that had been created to advise the premier on policy and matters that relate to submissions to his cabinet. He then became Director and subsequently Chief Director for national liaison at the Government Communication and Information System, which is the department in charge of coordinating communication of all national departments and provinces.

He is currently the Managing Director of Mitupo Investment Holdings, Chairman of Bokamoso Trust, Director of Vuselela Mining, Director of Rakhoma Mining, Director of Main Street (Exxaro’s Eyesizwe SVP), Director of Samoz LDA and former shareholder of Simeka Group.

Mr Ratshitanga has served as Secretary General of both the COSAS and SASCO
